This was quite a good hostel. It's located about 1min from the main street (O'Connell), and about 5mins from the Temple Bar district. Breakfast is basic but good. The staff were lovely, and we met some amazing fellow travellers there. Beds could have been more comfortable, but they were definitely better than some. The TV room has some amazingly comfy couches, and heaps of movies to watch for free. They also have a day rate, if check out is too early you can hang around. I'd stay here again! ~10th Aug 2010 83% Customer Rating
Great hostel, good location, great staff, good breakfast, free internet, clean, good beds. Excelent!!! I definitely stay there again if I go to Dublin.~ 27th July 2010. 100% Customer Rating
This was the best Hostel I went to in Ireland, sooo colourful, welcoming and with loadsa facilities. It could do with running a pub crawl tho, but very helpful and friendly. ~ 27th July 2010. 96% Customer Rating.
You can walk all over Dublin from there. Minutes away from major commercial area and from central bus station. Kitchen accessible most of the time. TV lounge separated from quieter lounge. Personal lock under bed. My BEST choice when staying in Dublin. ~ 90% Customer Rating
I experienced an upsetting event (my travel companion broke his leg while we visted Ireland and was in the hospital the entire time) and the staff literally made me feel as if I were apart of the family and always was right there for any questions and even suggestions of things to do by myself. I would really recommend this place. It is just like staying at a friend's place. Make sure you say hello to George for me! Devon, USA | Group 25-30 | 04th May 2009 ~ 100% Customer Rating
I just got back from a 5 night stay at Marlborough Hostel and overall, thought it was a good hostel. The location is a short walking distance to the city center but is a good 10+ minute walk to the Temple Bar area. The staff at Marlborough Hostel are wonderful - they are very friendly and helpful. The showers and bathrooms are pretty clean... but the bathrooms are pretty old. The beds were clean with new sheets, etc. Breakfast is good - nice selection of cereals, toast, and fruit. Great hostel, good location right off O\'Connell St. About a 10 minute walk from the Temple Bar area. The staff was extremely helpful: booked a tour of Wicklow for us and even managed to get us to the airport despite a taxi and bus strike. Would recommend to anyone! This place was awesome. It has everything you could need, friendly staff and its even well decorated! It was great to have a kitchen to cook in to save money on food and even better that breakfast was provided. The staff were very helpful whenever needed and everything you could need was there.
