The Hugh Lane Gallery - Parnell Square
Established 1908 with Sir Hugh Lane's impressionist collection.  The Francis Bacon studio is here.

Solomon Gallery - Powerscourt Centre
Quality exhibitions of contemporary Irish art. Located in a stunning 18th century setting.

National Museum - Kildare Street
A great collection of Bronze / Iron age gold artifacts and medieval Celtic metalwork.

Dublin Civic Museum - South Willian Street
Artifacts related to the history of Dublin. Located in the 18th century City Assembly House.

Dublin Writers Museum - Parnell Square

Heraldic Museum - Kildare Street
See the story of heraldry. Genealogy office is a popular spot for tracing family roots.

James Joyce Centre - North Gt. Georges Street
Opened in 1986 in a restored Georgian town house. A centre of study for all. House tours. Try the charming Cobalt cafe/gallery across the street.

Natural History Museum - Merrion Street
Opened 1857. Amazing collection of stuffed animals, fish and birds.

National Wax Museum - 4 Foster Place, Temple Bar, Dublin 2.

A collection of wax models. Chamber of Horrors and the Hall of Mirrors must be seen.

GAA Museum - Croke Park
The national museum for Gaelic Games. Take a tour of the biggest sports museum ( and stadium ) in the country.

Kilmainham Gaol - Inchicore Road
This cold grey grim old prison was closed in 1924. Now a thought provoking reminder of the past. Conducted tours. Informative and emotional place to visit.

National Library - Kildare Street
Massive collection of books maps and photographs. An excellent 60 min. audiovisual presentation.

Chester Beatty Library - Dublin Castle
Priceless collection of manuscripts, paintings, furniture and costumes.

Marsh's Library - St. Patrick's Close
Valuable collection of early books / manuscripts. See the old cages where readers were locked in when reading rare editions

National Leprechaun Museum - Jervis Street Dublin 1

Expect the unexpected as you move through the playful and facinating world of the Leprechaun.

Bank of Ireland - College Green
Built for the old Irish Parliament House of Commons is now a bank. Guided tours of the House of Lords.

City Hall - Cork Hill
Built in 1779, originally the seat of the Royal Stock exchange. Multimedia exhibition and guided tours.

Dublin Castle - Cork Hill
Built in the early 1200s by order of King John. Guided tours. Delightful minimalist garden "dubh linn" is an oasis of peace.

Dublinia - Christchurch
Informative re-creation of Medieval Dublin ( 1170 - 1550 ). Scale models and life size reconstructions.

Guinness Storehouse - St. James Gate
Tour the home of Guinness, then relax in the Gravity Bar with a complimentary pint of the black stuff.

Leinster House - Kildare Street
This 1745 classical townhouse is the seat of the Irish Parliament. Gallery seats occasionally available.

Old Jameson Distillery - Bow Street
An attractive museum of whiskey. Tours and fun tasting sessions. Look out for "The Chimney" viewing tower.

Trinity College
Dublin's famous University founded 1592. Tours include the BOOK OF KELLS.
 

Gardens & Parks

Phoenix Park & Zoo
Established 1662. The largest city park in Europe covering 700 acres. Contains many important historic buildins and monuments. Location of the 3rd oldest zoo in Europe.

Botanic Gardens - Glasnevin
Twenty acres of superb gardens and spectacular glass houses.

War Memorial Gardens - Islandbridge
Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens to commemorate Irish Soldiers who died in the great war. Superb herbaceous!
